What we collect, and why
The short version: we collect what you type into our forms and what any web server sees about a request. We use it to answer you and to understand who is reading. There is no ad tracking here, no analytics script, and nothing gets sold or shared for marketing.
What you send us
When you subscribe to the letter, request a template, use the contact form, or email yourself calculator results, we receive what you submitted: your email address, any message you wrote, and the numbers you put into the calculator. That lands in our inbox so a person can respond, and calculator results are also emailed back to the address you gave. Newsletter addresses go on the letter list; reply "stop" any time and a person takes you off it.
What the server sees
Like every website, our host (Cloudflare) shows us standard request details when you submit a form: your IP address, approximate location (city and region, derived from the IP), timezone, browser and device type, the page you submitted from, the first page of your visit, and how long you spent on the page. We attach that context to the form notification so we can respond sensibly, and we use nothing beyond that: no cookies for tracking, no fingerprinting, no third-party analytics.
Who processes it
- Cloudflare hosts the site and serves every page.
- Resend delivers our email, including the copies you send yourself.
- USDA FoodData Central answers the food lookup. Your search words are forwarded to fetch results; nothing about you travels with them.
- The site is published by the team behind Camp Kitchen Pro and Summer Camp Cooks. If you ask about kitchen software or a managed kitchen, your enquiry is handled by the relevant team; that is the entire flow of data between the properties.
Retention and your choices
Form submissions live in our email as long as ordinary correspondence does. If you want anything you sent us deleted, or want to know exactly what we hold about you, write to the editors and a person will handle it.
The anti-bot protections on our forms (a honeypot field, a submission timer, and Cloudflare Turnstile when enabled) exist to keep spam out; they evaluate the submission, not you.
